We Didn’t Quite Make It – Phil Haigh and John Apps

Description
Phil planned to do the Round Ireland Race (starts in Wicklow, leave Ireland to starboard) and John set off on the Jester Challenge (from Plymouth to Newport, Rhode Island). Both had problems of different kinds but are fortunately here to tell us their tales. John’s 25ft boat Arelia (pictured) suffered a near sinking in the Atlantic, so he returned to the UK and took his Rival 34 on a cruise to the Baltic instead. Phil has done two legs of the Clipper RTW race and is an expert on sea sickness patches…
