Description
Design it yourself or buy from the factory? Everyone’s dream or a nightmare? In 2001 John launched his new boat built to his own design, having managed the build. He will explain the reasons for choosing the design and the complications of building a one-off design to a budget while complying with regulations. He sailed her to the Caribbean in 2002 and then, with his wife Jenny, spent 11 years sailing between the Caribbean and Newfoundland, returning to the UK in 2013. John has served as Commodore of the Ocean Cruising Club and (now based in South Africa) he and Jenny are founder Directors of the Ocean Sailing Association of Southern Africa.
