Atta Boy MB436, Keeping History Alive – Chris Ashton
MB436 (Atta Boy) was one of the first petrol engine boats commissioned by The Admiralty 1915. MB436 was used primarily as a launch for Captain The Hon Sir Herbert Meade-Fetherstonhaugh, firstly on HMS Calliope in 1915 and then on HMS Royalist in 1916. She was onboard Royalist at The Battle of Jutland. Decommissioned in 1923 into private hands, she is now on the River Thames near Marlow.
