GXSA visit to WW2 Bunker Museum, Uxbridge
followed by Pub lunch
Tuesday 19th November 2024
This will be a guided tour of the WW2 bunker from which the Battle of Britain was fought, still with its original equipment and associated museum. The bunker is deep underground, 76 steps down, 76 steps up, no lift. If you can’t do the 76 steps, you can just visit the museum with a video of the bunker at a reduced price.
We are not collecting any money in advance; you buy your own tickets. But we need you to sign up so we can reserve appropriate space in the pub for lunch.
Please note the WW2 Bunker Museum and the Pub are both within the ULEZ zone.
The Plan
Meet about 09.30 at WW2 Bunker for the 10.00 tour (café opens at 09.30)
10 am tour WW2 Bunker and Museum, Wren Avenue, Uxbridge UB10 0GG (free car park)
Standard admission £12, but over 65 is £9.50 (needs photo evidence, eg driving licence)
You can buy your ticket on arrival but there may be a queue (or the tour might be full), so it is best to buy your ticket in advance. It is the 10am tour on Tuesday 19th November.
Buy tickets at https://battleofbritainbunker.co.uk/ or call 01895 238154
Then:
12.30 Pub lunch at Coach and Horses, High Road, Ickenham UB10 8LJ
(£2 car park ticket, show ticket for refund from your purchase in the pub)
If you would like to join us, please sign up on the noticeboard at a Wednesday meeting so we can reserve appropriate space in the pub for lunch.
