Description

Join us for a Pub Lunch at the Boot Inn, Sarratt WD3 6BL

Sarratt village is entirely within the green belt on the edge of the Chilterns and the Chess Valley with over 30 miles of public footpaths within the parish.

Featured in a number of films including Four Weddings and a Funeral, used regularly by TV companies including the BBC for programmes including French & Saunders and Jonathan Creek. Spy novelist John le Carré even put the location of a fictional secret agent training school and interrogation centre in the village of Sarratt.

Come and meet your friends for a self-funded mid-day lunch in the pub.

Here’s a web page with the details of the route (except we’re starting & ending at THE BOOT, not the cricketers pub).

  • A 3 mile walk, starting at 10:00. See website for the route.
  • A walk around Sarratt village that is reputed to have the longest village green in the country.

To do the walk, meet up in the Car-Park of The Boot pub at 10:00. The walk will be quite easy going, on local footpaths. If you just want lunch, please meet at 12.00

The Boot pub has a Car Park and is open from 10.00 to serve coffee (and has WC facilities).

The Boot, Sarratt

The walk on the website starts at the southern end of the village Green; therefore on leaving the Boot car park turn left and walk to the southern end of the Green turn left again into Goerge V Way (towards the George V Playing Fields) to start the walk using the directions on the website.

Alternatively, having turned left at the Boot pub in 15 yards turn left again and join public footpath No48  (slightly overgrown) between two hedges and follow this until the tennis courts where you join the route by going left onto  the footpath down the hill past the Christmas tree field.

We will update the following status box on the morning of the event, if inclement weather suggests a change of plan. Please check back here before you leave home.

The Walk is currently ON

If you can’t make the walk, just come for lunch!!!

Order your own food and drinks from the standard pub menu when you arrive at 12:00.

  • Bring substantial footwear (waterproof walking boots, or wellingtons with good walking tread).
  • You may want to consider a change of clothing and please clean muddy footwear before entering the pub.
