Disaster Waiting – the Severn Bridge Disaster
The tragic tail of the 1960 destruction of the Severn Bridge by two run away tankers. Paul Barnett will describe the construction and daily operation of the bridge and events leading to its eventual loss. The talk will unravel several bridge myths and present recently unearthed documentary evidence which helps to lay to rest this sad chapter of Gloucestershire’s maritime history.
