Where are we going?

Gins Farm Beaulieu

This Rally is being organised by Yateley Offshore Sailing Club (YOSC). They have provisionally booked 10 berths with Royal Southampton Yacht Club at Gins Farm. Boat details of those attending this Rally need to be submitted no later than Sunday 2nd September.

What are the plans for dinner?

We have booked the restaurant at the Royal Southampton Yacht Club, Gins Farm, Beaulieu.

There are two options for dinner, either a set dinner where you pre-order your menu selections no later than Wednesday the 12th August. We need a minimum of 20 people for this option or a BBQ we need a minimum of 25 people for this option. Please can you let the YOSC Commodore know your preference, his email address is commodore@yosc.org.uk.

The YOSC Commodore will then let everyone who has registered for this event which is the most popular and hence the option selected.

The detailed menus for both of these options are shown in the Restaurant section below.

I expect there to be quite a strong demand for places. Please book early using the form below, to avoid disappointment. Places will be allocated on a first come, first served basis. Book early to book your place in the queue.

GXSA members that are logged-in to the website will get most of their details automatically transcribed from their Website Profile (if information is missing, you may want to update your profile, to reduce typing next time).

Information is trickling out of the Marina and Restaurant. We’ll update you when we know more, which should be pretty soon.

Deadlines

Option of BBQ or Set Dinner Menu preference to be made to YOSC Commodore by Wednesday the 12th August.

If Set Dinner is preferred, the menu selection of you, and your crew, to be made no later than 19th August.

Boat details to be provided no later than the 2nd September.

YOSC currently have reserved 10 berths and they already have 5 boats signed up for this event.

The remaining berths will be allocated on a first-come-first-served basis.

Make sure to indicate the total number of people in your crew, so we can allocate Restaurant places effectively.

If the Set Menu option is selected as the preferred option, the deadline for confirming your menu selections is 08:00 Thursday 19th August!

There are limited spaces, therefore make sure to get yourself and your party onto the list, by completing the form, below.

Agenda

GXSA Regulars will know the proven format for the weekend:

  • Find a friendly Skipper, with a boat
  • Pontoon Party starts at 6:00pm. An opportunity to catch up with friends, and make new friends.
  • Dinner starts at 7:30pm.
  • The party continues until everyone’s exhausted
  • Sunday morning sees a variety of potential activities – To Be Decided
  • We could even turn it into a dinghy invasion fleet !!
  • Departure for home around midday, Sunday
  • It’s likely that some boats/skippers will extend the weekend beforehand, or afterwards – mostly to catch a fair tide up Southampton Water.
  • Skippers – Please confirm your boat and plans by email. Who will be in your crew? Do you intend to join us Friday evening? Any other plans.
  • No Boat? – Let us know if you’d like to come along: Use the web-form. We can usually find a kindly skipper who can offer you a berth.
