What’s Happening

One Week before the Sailing Season starts (officially). Take a risk on the weather and join us for our Rally to Bembridge.

Those that know Bembridge will be familar with the limited access to the harbour, and the pleasant atmosphere around the Duver when the tide goes out; you know that you’re stuck in the harbour, about to have a very pleasant time. The Duver peninsula is owned by the National Trust, with lots of bird live, and pleasant walks to St Helens, Seaview, and Bembridge town.

Depending on numbers and weather, the Pontoon Party could well be below decks, or in the bar!! To be decided on the day!

Dinner will be at Brading Haven Yacht Club, where we’ve eaten previously. BHYC are always welcoming and the KItchen Staff are excellent.

I expect there to be quite a strong demand for places. Please book early using the form below, to avoid disappointment. Places will be allocated on a first come, first served basis. Book early to book your place in the queue. At this time, bookings are Provisional, and you can cancel at any time.

GXSA members that are logged-in to the website will get most of their details automatically transcribed from their Website Profile (if information is missing, you may want to update your profile, to reduce typing next time).

Information is trickling out of the Marina and Restaurant. We’ll update you when we know more, which should be pretty soon.

Deadlines

We’re still working on this; but watch this space. If you complete the form, below, we will also keep you informed by email.

Agenda

GXSA Regulars will know the proven format for the weekend:

  • Find a friendly Skipper, with a boat
  • Pontoon Party starts at 6:00pm. An opportunity to catch up with friends, and make new friends.
  • Dinner starts at 7:30pm, having been pre-ordered from the menu, below (if you’ve logged in).
  • The party continues until everyone’s exhausted
  • Sunday morning sees a variety of potential activities – To Be Decided
  • We could even turn it into a dinghy invasion fleet !!
  • Departure for home around midday, Sunday
  • It’s likely that some boats/skippers will extend the weekend beforehand, or afterwards – mostly to catch a fair tide up Southampton Water.
  • Skippers – Please confirm your boat and plans by email. Who will be in your crew? Do you intend to join us Friday evening? Any other plans.
  • No Boat? – Let us know if you’d like to come along: Use the web-form. We can usually find a kindly skipper who can offer you a berth.
