Paul's Brittany Cruise

by Paul Farrell

Paul Farrell went on a 3 week cruise to South Brittany with Tony Firth on Amoret in May/June.

They had intended to go to Wales and Ireland. When they got to Falmouth and read the weather outlook, sense prevailed and they turned left for some sunshine....

Passing the Four lighthouse on the outward journey. We mostly anchored but went into marinas about every 3rd night (very economical…)

We got as far as Ile de Groix and L’Orient – here are the WW2 submarine pens

On the way back we stopped at Ste Marine, near Benodet for supplies and a good meal ashore.

Went into St Peter Port for a night on the return passage to avoid some F7 winds. I’ve never seen it so empty (4th June). Amoret has the dark blue hull. We met Ed and Sue Kelly in the big catamaran Angel Louise, starting their return to the USA over the next few months.
