Description
In his many novels about Naval History set in the period from the 18th century to WWII, Philip uses authentic nautical detail. Here he creates a vivid picture of 18th Century life in the Royal Navy, the discipline, munitions, mutinies and the great sailing pioneers and vessels of that era.
A longstanding member of the Society for Nautical Research, he also enjoys sailing and writes for the US Naval Institute’s magazine Naval History. He is the author of the nine book Alexander Clay series of naval fiction set in the age of sail and he has recently turned his attention to the Second World War, with Sea of Wolves set during the Battle of the Atlantic and a sequel called The Wolves in Winter.
