What’s Happening

The Rally to Northney Marina, Hayling Island is being organised by Alan Saunders from Yateley Offshore Sailing Club (YOSC).

Where are we going?

Northney Marina is located at the north end of Hayling Island with access via the Northney Channel. There are further details about the marina, VHF channel, costs etc. on the information sheet below.

You will see from the information sheet that Alan is gathering preferences for the venue for the evening meal. Please email him with your choice ASAP.

He is also asking anyone attending this event to let him know if you are staying beyond the 20th August.

What are the plans for dinner?

Alan is gathering preferences for the evening meal venue, please email him ASAP. His email address is 1980gk29@gmail.com.

I expect there to be quite a strong demand for places. Please book early using the form below, to avoid disappointment. Places will be allocated on a first come, first served basis. Book early to book your place in the queue. At this time, bookings are Provisional, and you can cancel at any time.

GXSA members that are logged-in to the website will get most of their details automatically transcribed from their Website Profile (if information is missing, you may want to update your profile, to reduce typing next time).

YOSC have provisionally reserved a number of berths, TBC.

The remaining berths will be allocated on a first-come-first-served basis.

Make sure to indicate the total number of people in your crew, so we can allocate Restaurant places effectively.

The are 3 options for the evening meal, these are detailed on the information sheet. Please email Alan Saunders with your preference ASAP, his email address is 1980gk29@gmail.com. Once the venue has been selected Alan will provide further details to those interested in attending.

GXSA Regulars will know the proven format for the weekend:

Find a friendly Skipper, with a boat
There’s an opportunity to catch up with friends, and make new ones as everyone tends to meet up in the cockpits of various boats for drinks & nibbles before the evening meal.
Dinner starting time is to be arranged once the venue is selected.
The party continues until everyone’s exhausted
Departure for home around midday the following day.
It’s likely that some boats/skippers will extend their sail beforehand, or afterward the event.

Skippers – Please confirm your boat and plans by email. Who will be in your crew? Do you intend to join us Friday evening? Any other plans.
No Boat? – Let us know if you’d like to come along: Use the web-form. We can usually find a kindly skipper who can offer you a berth.

You will be attending as the guest of the skipper/owner of the boat, so please respect the boat as you would respect somebody else’s home.
You are sailing at your own risk. Please check your own insurance, or your skipper’s insurance.
